Sharjah Charity International has launched its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan under the annual “Joud” initiative, with the ambitious goal of distributing 1.2 million Iftar meals to those fasting. The campaign plans to deliver 900,000 meals across various cities and communities in Sharjah, supporting families, labourers, and low-income individuals who rely on daily iftar meals during the fasting month. The charity’s leadership says the programme has grown beyond simply feeding people at sunset and now represents a meaningful expression of social solidarity and compassion.

In addition to its local efforts, the initiative aims to provide 300,000 meals in 51 countries abroad, reflecting Sharjah Charity International’s expanding humanitarian reach. Strategic distribution points have been set up throughout the emirate to maximise the campaign’s impact, and international deliveries are being organised in cooperation with government partners. The charity has encouraged donors to support the effort through its app, digital payment options, and other giving channels, emphasising that contributions of all sizes help feed hundreds of fasting people throughout Ramadan.
