Etihad Rail has partnered with Citymapper, its parent company Via, and transport operator United Trans to make planning journeys across the UAE easier. The app allows passengers to plan their entire trip in one place, from travelling to a train station to reaching their final destination.

Citymapper combines Etihad Rail services with Dubai Metro, buses, on-demand transport and other travel options, allowing users to compare different routes and connections. However, passengers will still need to use the Etihad Rail website or app to book and manage their train tickets, with Citymapper serving as a journey-planning tool.
The partnership follows the official launch of the UAE’s national passenger rail network on September 30, with services connecting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid and Fujairah. A new station in Liwa is also expected to open in November ahead of the Liwa festival. Transport officials say the collaboration aims to make public transport more convenient and accessible, encouraging more residents and visitors to choose rail travel.
