Abu Dhabi Museums Open Doors for Free

Residents and tourists in Abu Dhabi will be able to enjoy free entry to a range of museums and cultural attractions from May 16 to 18 as part of celebrations for International Museum Day. The initiative includes popular sites across the emirate, particularly within the Saadiyat Cultural District, giving visitors the chance to explore art, history and heritage without paying admission fees.

Participating venues include Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, alongside heritage locations in Al Ain and Al Dhafra. Visitors can also take part in workshops, guided tours, performances and family-friendly activities designed to highlight the importance of museums in preserving culture and encouraging community connection.

This year’s celebrations are centred around the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World”, with Abu Dhabi using the occasion to showcase its growing status as a major cultural destination in the region. Organisers say the programme is aimed at making arts and heritage more accessible to residents and visitors of all ages across the UAE.
