The UAE has officially confirmed the dates for Eid Al Adha 2026 after the crescent moon marking the start of Dhu Al Hijjah was sighted on Sunday evening. Monday, May 18, has been declared the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah, meaning Arafat Day will fall on Tuesday, May 26, with Eid Al Adha beginning on Wednesday, May 27.
The moon sighting was carried out in coordination with observatories and astronomy centres across the UAE using advanced technology and traditional observation methods. Similar announcements were also made in Saudi Arabia and several other countries, officially confirming the start of the Islamic month linked to Hajj and Eid Al Adha celebrations.
