You can now book Etihad Rail tickets!

The UAE’s long-awaited Etihad Rail passenger service is set to begin its introductory phase on June 30, 2026, with trains operating between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The launch follows the inauguration of the Mohamed bin Zayed City Passenger Train Station in Abu Dhabi, marking a major milestone for the country’s first national passenger railway network. The wider public rollout will begin on September 30, when stations in Dubai and Al Dhaid open, followed by Al Dhafra stations in December and the completion of the network with Sharjah Station in March 2027.

Once fully operational, the 900km rail network will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE, offering a faster alternative to road travel. Trains will travel at speeds of up to 200km/h, cutting journey times significantly, including a 57-minute trip between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and a one-hour, 45-minute journey between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The passenger fleet will consist of 13 trains, each capable of carrying up to 400 passengers.

Ticket sales opened on June 23 through the Etihad Rail website and mobile app. Introductory fares for the Abu Dhabi–Fujairah route start at Dh55 for Comfort Class and Dh120 for Premium Class. Passengers can also expect onboard dining facilities, while stations are being developed as lifestyle destinations featuring cafés, restaurants, retail outlets and other amenities to enhance the travel experience.
