The UAE is accelerating work on a new West-East Pipeline project that will double ADNOC’s oil export capacity through Fujairah by 2027. The new route will strengthen the country’s ability to transport crude oil from Abu Dhabi to the Port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.
Officials say the expansion is designed to improve energy security, support rising global demand and reinforce Fujairah’s role as a major international energy hub. The current Habshan-Fujairah pipeline can carry around 1.5 to 1.8 million barrels per day, but the new project is expected to significantly increase that capacity and provide ADNOC with greater export flexibility during periods of regional tension.
