Tom Hardy Makes His Rap Debut as Frankie Pulitzer

Tom Hardy has officially added rapper to his résumé, releasing his debut album under the stage name Frankie Pulitzer. Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer is a 15-track collaboration with hip-hop collective Czarface, which includes Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric. The album features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P.

The project is packed with references to Hardy's acting career and his love of movies and comics. One of the biggest surprises comes on “Grim-Visaged War,” where Hardy brings back his famous Bane voice from The Dark Knight Rises to deliver part of Shakespeare's Richard III. Other tracks reference Marvel characters, Stephen King and films including Bringing Out the Dead.

Hardy's interest in rap isn't entirely new. He has spoken about rapping since his teenage years and previously recorded a mixtape in the late 1990s, which eventually surfaced online in 2018. His collaboration with Czarface began several years ago, with fans gradually working out that the mysterious Frankie Pulitzer was actually Hardy. Now, his secret musical alter ego has finally stepped into the spotlight.
