India is setting global records daily for coronavirus cases and deaths. The country's second wave has left the hospital system on the verge of collapse, with oxygen levels on very low levels. The surge of cases has created a severe shortage of hospital beds, medicine, and oxygen causing COVID-19 patients to die due to lack of treatment needed, while Oxygen containers' prices rise in the markets.

In its attempt to fight this wave, India sent a military aircraft to the UAE to transport Oxygen containers back for use in its hospitals.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, assured India of the UAE's support, expressing the UAE's "keenness to dedicate all resources to help".

On Sunday 25th of April, landmarks in the UAE lit up in the colors of the Indian flag to show support and solidarity.
