Dubai to Host First Environment Conference in September

Dubai will host its first Dubai Environment Conference and Exhibition (DECE) on September 7-8, bringing together policymakers, environmental experts, businesses and academics to discuss some of the region’s biggest environmental challenges. Organised by the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, the two-day event will take place at the Grand Hyatt Dubai under the theme “Protecting Our Environment, Preserving Our Future.”

The conference will focus on six key areas: biodiversity, natural resources, food security, climate change, the circular economy and environmental artificial intelligence. Sessions will explore everything from cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving climate resilience to using AI and satellite technology to monitor water resources, coastal changes and vegetation. Other topics include air, soil and water quality, sustainable food supplies, recycling and electronic waste.

Alongside panel discussions and scientific presentations, the event will feature an exhibition showcasing environmental technologies, initiatives and solutions. Organisers hope the conference will encourage greater collaboration between government, businesses and universities, while supporting the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategy, National Green Agenda 2030 and Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
