Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab is set to undergo its first major restoration since opening in 1999, with work expected to last around 18 months. The project will be carried out in phases and is designed to preserve the landmark’s distinctive sail-shaped design and luxurious interiors, while enhancing the overall guest experience. The hotel’s owner, Jumeirah Group, says the aim is to protect one of Dubai’s most recognizable symbols for future generations while maintaining its world-class standards throughout the process.

The restoration will be led by renowned French interior architect Tristan Auer, known for working on prestigious heritage properties. The focus will be on carefully restoring existing features rather than replacing them, ensuring the hotel retains its original character while being subtly refreshed. With 198 luxury suites and a reputation for redefining high-end hospitality, the Burj Al Arab remains a global icon—and this project marks a new chapter in its legacy as Dubai continues to preserve its most famous landmarks.
