Snoop Dogg Biopic Set for Summer 2027 Release

Universal Pictures has officially announced that the long-awaited Snoop Dogg biopic, simply titled Snoop, will be released in cinemas on August 6, 2027. Outer Banks star Jonathan Davis will portray the rap icon, while Craig Brewer, best known for Hustle & Flow, will direct the film. The project marks the first movie to come from Death Row Pictures' partnership with NBC Universal.

Snoop Dogg first revealed the film at CinemaCon earlier this year, saying it was finally his chance to tell his story after the success of Straight Outta Compton. While plot details remain under wraps, the biopic is expected to explore his rise from Long Beach rapper to one of hip-hop's biggest global stars, although it's not yet known whether it will focus on a specific chapter of his life or his entire career.

The announcement comes during another busy period for Snoop Dogg, who continues to balance music, film and business ventures. He recently reunited with fellow West Coast artists Kurupt and DJ Battlecat for the new single "Me N the Boyz", highlighting that, more than three decades after his breakthrough, Snoop remains one of rap's most influential and active figures.
