Elon Musk: Starlink Could Provide the majority of the world's Internet

Elon Musk believes Starlink could provide the majority of the world’s internet within the next 10 years, describing the satellite broadband service as a key part of SpaceX’s future. Speaking after the company’s latest earnings report, Musk said the growing demand for internet bandwidth—driven by artificial intelligence, robotics and other emerging technologies—will fuel rapid expansion, particularly in countries where Starlink has regulatory approval.

Starlink currently delivers high-speed internet through a vast network of low-Earth orbit satellites, with SpaceX continuing to launch more spacecraft to increase coverage and capacity. Musk said the next-generation V3 satellites will offer significantly more bandwidth than previous models, allowing the company to serve far more customers while improving performance.

The ambitious prediction came as SpaceX reported strong financial growth, with Starlink remaining the company’s biggest revenue generator. While Musk acknowledged there are still regulatory hurdles in some markets, he said the long-term goal is for Starlink to become the world’s leading internet provider, connecting millions more users across both urban and remote areas.
