Ariana Grande is officially saying goodbye to her Glinda blonde and hello to a rich brunette refresh, just in time for the next chapter of her Wicked journey.

The pop star unveiled her new look on Instagram, captioning the post, “it’s good to see me, isn’t it? 🫧” – a playful nod to her character Glinda’s iconic line from the film.

The We Can’t Be Friends singer last sported dark hair in December 2022, during the early days of filming Wicked and its sequel, Wicked: For Good. Around that time, behind-the-scenes clips showed Grande and co-star Cynthia Erivo rehearsing on the unfinished Shiz University set. Soon after, she stepped fully into Glinda mode, embracing a bright blonde transformation throughout the promotion of Wicked: Part One.

For longtime fans, the brunette comeback feels like a full-circle moment. Grande’s hair evolution has been as iconic as her music, from the fiery red and cherry-cola tones of her Victorious and Sam & Cat days to the caramel brown shade she adopted in 2012. Each color shift has marked a new creative era and personal reinvention.

Now, as she returns to her brunette roots, fans are already speculating: will she keep the darker look, or revive her signature blonde for the Wicked: For Good press tour ahead of its November 21 release?
