Cynthia Erivo received a prolonged standing ovation at the first London preview of her one-woman stage adaptation of Dracula at the Noël Coward Theatre on February 7, 2026. In this ambitious West End production, she portrays 23 different characters from Bram Stoker’s novel, from Mina Murray and Jonathan Harker to Van Helsing and Count Dracula, in a solo performance that blends live acting with real-time video and moving screens in director Kip Williams’s “cine-theatre” style. The show had previously premiered in Australia with the Sydney Theatre Company before transferring to London.

Despite early technical issues that delayed the first scheduled performances, the creative team used the extra rehearsal time to refine the complex staging, and previews are now underway ahead of the official opening on February 17. Erivo’s return to live theatre comes amid continued success on screen, including her roles in Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good (2025), for which she earned a historic second Golden Globe nomination. The limited run of Dracula is scheduled to continue through May 30, 2026.
