Pop star Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalogue to music publisher Primary Wave, meaning the company will now own her stake in many of her biggest songs, including hits like “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again” and “Lucky.” The transaction was finalized at the end of December 2025, and while the exact financial terms haven’t been officially disclosed, sources familiar with the deal say it’s comparable to the roughly $200 million catalogue sales other artists have recently made. Primary Wave, known for acquiring major artists’ catalogs, will now control the ownership share of Spears’ music, potentially earning from future uses in streaming, films, ads and other media.

Spears hasn’t released a studio album since 2016’s Glory and has largely stepped back from performing in recent years. The report notes that she also stated she won’t perform in the United States again, though she has hinted at intimate performances abroad, and the catalogue sale places her among a growing group of legendary musicians monetizing their music rights after long careers.
