Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Says No More Autographs

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has announced that he is stepping away from signing autographs and meeting fans outside venues after shows. Parker explained that the situation has become increasingly uncomfortable, with some autograph seekers behaving aggressively and creating security concerns around artists.

Parker said the decision is not about disliking fans, but about the changing nature of autograph collecting. He has become frustrated with people who appear to be collecting signatures for resale rather than as genuine personal mementos. The behaviour has made post-show encounters increasingly difficult and has taken away from what should be positive interactions with fans.

The musician stressed that he remains grateful for Tame Impala’s supporters and the enthusiasm surrounding the band. However, he believes setting boundaries around public appearances is necessary for his own safety and wellbeing. Fans will still be able to see Parker perform and engage with Tame Impala through official channels, but spontaneous autograph sessions are likely to become a thing of the past.
