The 104.8 Channel 4 office is very excited about the much anticipated Harry Potter series. We’re even more excited that HBO has already started developing Season 2 of its upcoming Harry Potter series, even though the first season has yet to premiere. Network CEO Casey Bloys confirmed that writing for the second season is already underway, with the aim of avoiding long gaps between releases. He explained that while it won’t be released annually, HBO wants to keep the story moving consistently, especially given the young cast, who are growing as the series progresses.

The early development reflects HBO’s long-term vision for the series, which is expected to span multiple seasons and closely follow the original books. By starting work on future instalments now, the network hopes to maintain continuity between Hogwarts school years and avoid the long delays that have affected other major productions. The first season, based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is set to premiere in late 2026, with plans already in motion to keep the franchise running smoothly beyond its debut.
