The United Arab Emirates has officially announced the Eid Al Fitr 2026 holiday schedule for workers in both the public and private sectors. Federal government entities will observe the holiday from Thursday, March 19 to Sunday, March 22, 2026, with normal work resuming on Monday, March 23. Private sector employees will have time off from March 19 to March 21, but this break will be extended to March 22 if the holy month of Ramadan lasts 30 days, pending the moon sighting that marks the start of Shawwal.
The announcement applies across the UAE and gives residents, employers, and employees a chance to plan ahead for travel, celebrations, and family time during one of the most significant religious holidays in the Islamic calendar. Exact dates for Eid will still depend on the crescent moon sighting, which determines when Ramadan ends and the festivity begins.
