As the UAE marks the fifth Emirati Women’s Day on August 28. We celebrate the achievements of the women in our nation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, shared a message on social media platforms to celebrate the occasion.
“ On Emirati Women’s Day, which is every year on August 28, we celebrate mothers, sisters, wives and daughters, ” he shared this message on instagram and twitter.
Emirati Women’s Day was launched in 2015 by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family development foundation.
Emirati Women’s Day is to celebrate and recognize achievements of women in the country.
This year’s theme is “Women, Icons of Tolerance.” The aim is to highlight and promote the values of tolerance, which is the main priority of the nation this year.
She said, “the theme is a reflection of the real nature of women, who are compassionate and tender and deal with others with softness and kindness, because they are mothers and educators, especially the educated young women who always aspire to reach the highest levels of science.”
