Dubai has opened 10 new mosques so far this year and is preparing to inaugurate an additional five during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, as part of a broader effort to meet the growing demand for places of worship across the emirate. The expansion, led by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, aims to strengthen religious infrastructure in residential areas and enhance accessibility for worshippers amid Dubai’s ongoing population growth.
The newly operational mosques are located in several key communities and are expected to serve thousands of worshippers daily, with names including Zamzam Mosque in Al Barsha South 2, Al Ghani Mosque in Airport City, and Al Rahman Mosque in Umm Suqeim 2. Authorities say the initiative not only increases prayer capacity but also reinforces the role of mosques as spiritual and community hubs, with plans in place to ensure they are fully ready and comfortable for residents throughout Ramadan.
