OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in the Camping Under The Stars promotional campaign and associated event (the "Event"), organized and conducted by Channel 4 Radio Network ("Channel 4", the "Organizer", "we", "our" or "us").
Participation in the promotion, acceptance of any prize, attendance at the Event, or participation in any Event-related activity shall constitute deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The Organizer reserves the right to amend, update, suspend, postpone or cancel the promotion or any element of the Event at any time if required for operational, safety, legal or commercial reasons.
- Eligibility
1.1 Participation is open to legal residents of the United Arab Emirates holding valid identification documents.
1.2 Participants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of entry and participation.
1.3 The Organizer reserves the right to request proof of identity, age and residency before confirming participation or awarding any prize.
1.4 Employees of the Organizer, its affiliates, sponsors, partners, advertising agencies, suppliers and immediate family members may be excluded from participation at the Organizer's sole discretion.
1.5 The Organizer reserves the right to reject, disqualify or remove any participant who fails to satisfy these eligibility requirements.
- Winner Selection and Prize Acceptance
2.1 Winners shall be selected in accordance with the contest mechanics announced on-air, online or through official promotional channels.
2.2 The Organizer's decision in respect of all matters relating to the promotion, including winner selection, shall be final and binding.
2.3 Winners may be required to provide valid identification and complete any documentation requested by the Organizer before participation is confirmed.
2.4 Failure to respond within the timeframe specified by the Organizer may result in forfeiture of the prize.
2.5 The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and may not be exchanged for cash, credit or any alternative benefit.
- Family Participation
3.1 The Event is intended for adults, couples and families subject to the conditions stated herein.
3.2 Children under eight (8) years of age shall not be permitted to attend the Event under any circumstances.
3.3 A maximum of two (2) children may accompany each participating family.
3.4 All minors must remain under the direct supervision and responsibility of their parent or legal guardian at all times.
3.5 The Organizer does not provide childcare, supervision or guardianship services.
3.6 Parents and legal guardians shall remain solely responsible for the conduct, welfare, safety and supervision of accompanying minors throughout the Event.
- Participation by Individual Attendees
4.1 Individual participants ("Singles") may attend the Event, subject to availability and approval by the Organizer.
4.2 Accommodation arrangements, seating allocations, transportation arrangements and campsite assignments shall be determined solely by the Organizer and/or the appointed event operator.
4.3 No participant shall be entitled to request a specific accommodation category, location or assignment.
- Nature of the Event
5.1 Participants acknowledge that the Event is an outdoor overnight camping experience which may take place in desert or other outdoor environments.
5.2 Participants understand and accept that outdoor activities involve inherent risks and may be affected by factors beyond the Organizer's reasonable control.
5.3 Environmental, weather and site conditions may change without notice and may impact the operation, timing or availability of certain activities.
5.4 Participants agree to exercise reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of accompanying guests.
- Health, Medical Fitness and Personal Responsibility
6.1 By participating in the Event, each participant represents and warrants that they are in suitable physical and medical condition to attend and participate.
6.2 Participants are responsible for ensuring that any medical condition, allergy, dietary restriction, disability or health concern that may affect participation is disclosed to the Organizer where appropriate.
6.3 Participants shall be responsible for carrying and administering their own prescribed medication.
6.4 The Organizer reserves the right to refuse participation where, in its reasonable opinion, participation may pose a risk to the individual concerned or to other participants.
6.5 Participation in the Event and all associated activities is entirely voluntary and at the participant's own risk. Each participant acknowledges and accepts that outdoor camping, transportation, recreational activities and exposure to outdoor environments may involve inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury, illness, accident or property damage.
6.6 The Organizer shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, illness, medical condition, disability, loss, damage or other harm suffered by a participant, accompanying guest or minor during, arising from, or in connection with participation in the Event.
6.7 Participants shall be solely responsible for their own medical expenses, treatment costs, emergency medical assistance, hospitalization costs and any related expenses arising from any injury, illness or medical incident occurring before, during or after the Event. The Organizer shall have no obligation to provide, arrange or bear the cost of any medical treatment, transportation, evacuation or healthcare services.
6.8 Participants are strongly encouraged to ensure that they have adequate health, medical and personal accident insurance coverage prior to attending the Event.
- Safety and Compliance
7.1 Participants shall comply with all instructions, announcements, safety guidance and directions issued by:
- Channel 4 Radio Network;
- Event management personnel;
- Venue operators;
- Transportation providers;
- Security personnel; and
- Emergency response personnel.
7.2 The Organizer reserves the right to remove any participant who:
- Acts in a manner that may endanger themselves or others;
- Fails to comply with safety instructions;
- Causes disruption to the Event;
- Engages in unlawful conduct; or
- Acts in a manner considered inappropriate or detrimental to the enjoyment of other participants.
7.3 No refund, replacement prize or compensation shall be payable in the event of such removal.
- Weather Conditions and Force Majeure
8.1 The Event is subject to weather conditions, government regulations, venue requirements and operational considerations.
8.2 The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Reschedule the Event;
- Modify the Event itinerary;
- Change the venue;
- Alter or cancel activities;
- Suspend portions of the Event; or
- Cancel the Event entirely.
8.3 Such decisions may be made due to adverse weather conditions, sandstorms, heavy rainfall, flooding, health and safety concerns, government directives, security concerns, force majeure events or any other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer.
8.4 In such circumstances, the Organizer shall not be liable for any consequential loss, inconvenience, travel expenses or other costs incurred by participants.
- Personal Property
9.1 Participants shall remain solely responsible for their personal belongings throughout the Event.
9.2 The Organizer shall not be responsible for any loss, theft, damage or misplacement of personal property, including but not limited to mobile phones, electronic devices, luggage, valuables, vehicles or personal effects.
- Photography, Audio and Video Recording
10.1 The Event may be photographed, filmed, recorded and broadcast by the Organizer and its media partners.
10.2 By participating in the Event, participants grant the Organizer and its affiliates the right to capture, reproduce, publish, broadcast and distribute photographs, audio recordings, video recordings and other media content depicting their participation.
10.3 Such content may be used for promotional, marketing, publicity, editorial, digital, social media and archival purposes without additional compensation.
10.4 Parents and guardians participating with minors consent to such recording and use on behalf of the accompanying minor.
- Liability
11.1 The Organizer shall take reasonable measures to facilitate the safe conduct of the Event.
11.2 Participation is voluntary and participants acknowledge the nature of outdoor recreational activities.
11.3 To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, the Organizer shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental or special loss arising from participation in the Event.
11.4 Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
- Indemnity
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer, its officers, employees, contractors, sponsors and event partners against claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses arising from:
- Breach of these Terms;
- Negligent or unlawful conduct by the participant;
- Damage caused to persons or property by the participant; or
- Violation of applicable laws or regulations.
- Privacy
Any personal information collected in connection with the promotion or Event shall be processed for the purposes of:
- Administration of the promotion;
- Verification of eligibility;
- Event management;
- Communication with participants;
- Prize fulfilment;
- Marketing and promotional activities relating to Channel 4 Radio Network, where permitted by applicable law.
Mandatory Acceptance
By entering the promotion, accepting a prize or attending the Event, participants confirm that they:
- Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions;
- Meet all eligibility requirements;
- Accept the nature of an outdoor overnight camping experience;
- Agree to comply with all safety and operational instructions;
- Accept responsibility for accompanying family members and minors; and
- Consent to photography, filming and recording during the Event.
