You're not going mad, Etisalat are having internet cutouts!
Etisalat customers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been left a little unhappy, after connecting to their internet turned out to be a trickier than usual. Etisalat have now acknowledged the issue and are attempting to fix the problem.
When you phone the customer care centre, before being reaching the menu options you are greeted with a automated voice saying: "We are currently experiencing a general problem in all regions where people are unable to browse the internet, our technical team is working to resolve the problem. We regret the inconvenience caused."
The automated message was removed later today, though some customers are still experiencing issues. On Tuesday Etisalat said that they were doing a mobile network upgrade, and that could be the cause of some of the outages, though that service has already been restored.
