Your bad driving could get you locked up...
According to Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Mohammad Saif Al Zaffin, yesterday The Federal Traffic Council recommended that people caught driving recklessly on the UAE's roads could be jailed for 24 hours.
30% of all fatalities on Dubai's roads are due to reckless driving across the UAE, a following 70% of accidents are due to speeding alone. The new recommendation comes, in an attempt to reduce the number of fatal accidents on the UAEs roads.
As well as the 24 hour jailing recommendations, the Federal Traffic Council also recommended that guardians/parents should be monitoring their child's driving and train them - the system would only be implemented to guardians, that have had their license for more than 2 years and have no traffic violations of accidents.
