You can now take a trip into Dubai's history!
Most people come to the UAE for the weather, amazing beaches, huge buildings and luxury lifestyle, but behind all of the Dubai used to be a small pearl diving village.
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai have teamed up with the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority to create tours in Khor Dubai that show people living or visiting Dubai how much history is in this Emirate.
The tour will have trained Emirati tour guides that will tell you "Tales from the Past," through Al Shindagha, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum House, and significant areas that show the art of traditional architecture, education, commerce and social life.
The assistant director-general of Dubai Municipality and chairman of DHD Rejuvenation Executive Committee, Obaid Salem Al Shamsi said "Khor Dubai has played an intrinsic role in the fortunes of Dubai for centuries, and under the vision of Dubai's leadership ... the rejuvenation project has started bearing fruit with the first fully authentic heritage tour initiative having been completed."
The tour will have interactive activities for visitors to take part in, and experience the way it was done before the big buildings and giant malls arrived.
