The Burj Khalifa's rival has reached the 40th floor!
The Jeddah Tower, is on it's way up, and has hit the 40th floor mark. Though delays have been occurring since the beginning of construction, now developers believe everything will run smoothly until completion.
Delays have occurred due to issues with the contractor, speaking to The National, the chief development officer of Jeddah Economic Company, Hisham Jomah said: "Basically, it was a financial problem. Until we secured a loan from the bank … to make sure that the cash flow for the contractor is more stable for the time schedule."
Before delays occurred, floors were being completed once every 5 days, this has now extended to 6 to 8 days.
The building has reached the 40th floor, and will eventually have 252 floors, unlike the Burj Khalifa with 163 floors.
