Japan, being Japan want to build a tower the height of 2 Burj Khalifas!
Picture this, the year is 2045, flying car exist, and the Burj Khalifa is a distant memory in the World's Tallest list! Sound's ridiculous right? But it could be true!
Japan have released plans to build a skyscraper that is twice the size of the Burj Khalifa, called the Sky Mile Tower. The Burj, mesuring 830m will look tiny compared to the 1,700 metre tall tower, that plans to be finished by 2045.
The guys behind the building, The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats, have said it will be able to house 55,000 people at a time, the literal definition of a Verticle City.
During a meeting with The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats, Peter Reece, a professor of Places and City Planning at The Bartlett Faculty of Built Environment, University College in London said:“The future of the world does not look like Dubai or Pudong. The future is the little area I walked through in Tokyo today. If you want to see where new ideas are born, don’t look in a tall building, look in a garage behind a building in a back street,”
The area the new Sky Mile Tower will be built in the "Next Tokyo" which will try to eliminate climate change.
