Reem Island expect road closures after lorry crash!

Yesterday afternoon a lorry drove into a footbridge on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, the incident has lead to the Police having to close two lanes on the road.

It is expected that the road will remain this way until the bridge is fixed.

A spokesperson for properties developers Aldar, who created the footbridge spoke to The National, saying: “Nobody was injured, and we have temporarily closed the bridge until such time as a qualified third party consultant is able to assess the bridge and confirm its structural integrity.”

The bridge will be closed until further notice, which isn't a concern for citizens of Reem Island currently, however if it does remain closed in the summer, months it could be a pain due to the hot weather.
