PICTURES: Explosion rips through Turkish Restaurant

This morning at about 6.15am an explosion ripped through Bosporus Turkish restaurant in Umm Suqiem.

The blast is said to be caused by gas explosion; residents in the area said emergency services were quick to the scene, and that no one was injured.

The explosion left all the windows shattered, and the entries lower level of the restaurant gutted.

Residents close by to the restaurant have said they heard a loud band, some even stated that the explosion happened with such force they could feel the doors and windows of their house shake.
