Littering in the desert? Expect to pay some massive fines!
In a bid to preserve the natural beauty of Sharjah, The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah decided, that people will be fined Dh2,000 for not disposing waste properly in the desert.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasim, Crown Prince and Deputy ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, was leading the discussion in his office.
The decision was decided upon to protect the environment, due to many people camping in the desert and leaving the areas without removing their rubbish.
Sharjah authorities are currently working on camps with barbecuing area for families, with only small additional prices.
