Energy drink ban in Sharjah

Yesterday Sharjah announced they had officially banned the sale of energy drinks at all restaurants and cafeterias.

Sharjah began implementing the ban a few months ago, by putting age restrictions on the sale of energy drinks in supermarkets.Energy drinks are very high in caffeine and are not safe for young people who are still developing to drink. 

Though you are unable to buy energy drink in restaurants and cafes if you are over the age of 16 energy drinks are still available in supermarkets and hyper markets. 

Studies have proven that drinking too many energy drinks can cause strain on your heart and can result in possible cardiac arrest, Insomnia, and Type 2 Diabetes.
