E-Gates get fitted into Abu Dhabi airport in time for Eid rush!
E-Gates at Abu Dhabi International Airport have been installed and will become compulsory to use for all passengers entering and exiting the emirate.
The gates were installed just in time for the rush of passengers during the Eid holiday. It is expected 85,000 people will leave from Abu Dhabi Airport this Eid Al Fitr, which begins for some people on Sunday.
The airport has also installed E-registration counters for people to use while they wait for passport control so on their way back into the country, instead of queuing up, they can swipe back into the UAE quickly.
In a statement Abu Dhabi International Airport said: "Abu Dhabi Airports advises passengers that E-registration, for the newly launched Smart Travel initiative at Abu Dhabi International Airport, is now compulsory, and we therefore urge all travellers to arrive to the airport at least three hours before their flight departure time during this busy season."
