Could Dubai host the next World Cup with new stadium?
The Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid football stadium has been revealed, and will be the worlds first air conditioned, above ground football stadium.
With 60,000 seats, the stadium is estimated to cost Dh3 billion, with extra facilities including a car park to facilitate 5,000 cars, a sports museum, exercise pitches, training halls and conference and exhibition auditoriums. The stadium is estimated to be one of the largest in the world.
The stadium will be located in Al Aweer, the stadium will have 8,941 VIP seats and 1,642 VIP suites, because it may be for football matches, but we're in Dubai and Luxury is a necessity.
The stadium, when finished, will take the crown for most expensive, overtaking the Dh5.88 billion Met Life stadium in New Jersey, USA.
The completion date has not yet been announced.
