Dubai Roads turns red to highlight speed limit! (Duplicate)
RTA has started colouring the asphalt red on parts of streets that are subject to changes in speed limits!
RTA is experimenting changing colors in roads such as Oud Metha Street, where the maximum speed limit has been reduced from 100 to 80 kilometres per hour.
The idea will next be implemented on Sheikh Zayed Road where the speed limit has been reduced from 120 kph to 100 kph.
It will also be applied to the Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road near Lehbab, where the speed limit has been reduced from 120 kph to 100 kph, so that motorists can avoid speeding and radar tickets.
A study was commissioned to improve the locations witnessing speed reduction to alert drivers to be more attentive and have them reduce their speed to match the design of the road and avoid being caught by radar.
Roads and Transportation Authority expects motorists to get used to this for their own safety and avoid accidents resulting from speeding!
